25% of My Spotify Royalties for Good Your play can fill a plate—and fund care.
FDR-Sound
From today, every follow and stream helps people in need. I’m committing 25% of my net Spotify royalties to good causes, starting with food banks and Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières). As the project grows, I may include other vetted organizations that align with these goals.
How It Works
- You follow and stream my music on Spotify.
- Spotify pays royalties via my distributor.
- I donate 25% of my net Spotify royalties (after distributor/label fees and any co-writer splits).
- Timing: donations are made quarterly once there’s a meaningful payout (i.e., after distributor payments clear and the amount is large enough to make a practical, effective donation). If a quarter falls short, the funds roll over until the next payout meets that threshold.
Why These Causes?
- Food banks: direct, local impact—meals on real tables.
- Doctors Without Borders (MSF): independent medical aid where it’s needed most.
Over time, I may add other reputable organizations with transparent reporting and strong track records.
How You Can Help (Beyond Hitting Play)
- Follow on Spotify and save your favorite tracks.
- Add songs to playlists—this boosts reach a lot.
- Share a track or this post with a friend.
- Let a playlist run while you work, create, or relax.
Transparency & Scope
- Scope: This pledge applies to Spotify streaming income. If I include other platforms later, I’ll update this page.
- Definition: “Net Spotify royalties” = royalties after distributor/label fees and any co-writer splits.
- Cadence & Threshold: Donations are made each quarter when distributor payouts clear and meet a practical minimum (to avoid tiny transfers/fees). Amounts below that minimum roll over to the next donation.
- Disclosure: This initiative is not sponsored or affiliated with Spotify.
FAQs
Do listeners pay anything?
No—your support is following, streaming, and sharing.
Can I donate directly instead?
Absolutely. Please support your local food bank or Doctors Without Borders (MSF) directly if you can.
Will you change the percentage or charities later?
Possibly. As streaming grows and the project stays sustainable, I may increase the percentage and/or add other vetted organizations. Any changes will be announced here.
