Amplitude envelope

flat — the envelope is doing nothing

Drag a node to move it. Drag the small square between two nodes to bend that segment. Click the line to add a node, double-click a node to delete it. The waveform of your selection sits behind the curve; the envelope runs across the whole slice, so it follows whatever length you cut.

L	loop on or off
Enter	back to the start of the selection
← →	nudge the active edge
Shift + ← →	move the active edge in bigger steps
Tab	switch between the left and right edge
Ctrl/⌘ + A	select everything
F	fit — whole track in view
E	zoom to selection
Z	zero-crossing snap on or off
Scroll wheel	zoom around the cursor
Shift + wheel	scroll horizontally
Alt + drag	pan the view
Double-click	inside the selection: zoom to it — outside: select everything
