A Sunday Well Spent in the Heart of London with Friends

We couldn’t have asked for a better fourth day in London! Our Sunday was filled with laughter, adventure, and mouthwatering food. Not only did we reunite with our dear friend from Chelmsford, but we also got to experience the excitement of the London Marathon and indulge in the classic Sunday roast that we had been craving for so long.

The day started off with a warm reunion in the lobby of our hotel. We were thrilled to see our friend again after such a long time, and there were smiles and hugs all around. After catching up for a bit, we decided to make the most of our time together by going for a lovely walk in St. James’s Park.

As we strolled through the park, we couldn’t help but be captivated by the lush greenery, beautiful flower beds, and the serene lake. We even spotted some of the famous pelicans that call the park home! To our surprise, we also caught a glimpse of the London Marathon taking place that day. Thousands of runners from around the world were participating in this iconic event, and their determination and spirit were truly inspiring. We couldn’t help but feel a sense of camaraderie as we cheered them on.

After our walk, it was time for the highlight of our day: a proper Sunday roast! We had made a reservation at a local pub renowned for their delicious roast dinners. The anticipation was building as we sat down and placed our orders. When the dishes arrived, we were certainly not disappointed. The succulent roast beef, crispy Yorkshire puddings, and perfectly roasted potatoes were an absolute delight. It was everything we had hoped for, and the lively atmosphere of the pub only added to the experience.

As the day drew to a close, we said our goodbyes to our friend, but not without making plans to see each other again later in the week. We agreed to celebrate my birthday together and make it a fun-filled day. It’s not every day that we get to spend time with such cherished friends, and we’re already looking forward to the memories we’ll create during the rest of our stay in London.

Overall, our fourth day in London was nothing short of magical. The combination of rekindling old friendships, witnessing the energy of the marathon, and indulging in a scrumptious Sunday roast made it a day we’ll never forget. And with even more adventures planned for the upcoming days, our love affair with London is only just beginning!
